I have been seeing a lot of “Jace Herondale” shit lately so like. Did Cassie Clare have him say that he was a Herondale in the last book because if so FUCK YOU CASSIE CLARE FUCK YOU SO HARD and fuck this fandom for going along with that/deciding to make his last name herondale even tho he doesn’t want it to be

half the reason i love him is all of his parental identity issues you take that away from him and besides that he’s boring to me but also you take that way AND HE IS NOT JACE ANYMORE THE WHOLE POINT OF HIS STORY IS THAT THE PEOPLE THAT LOVE YOU ARE YOUR FAMILY NOT THE PEOPLE WHO BIRTHED YOU OR EVEN RAISED YOU#IT’S THE PEOPLE THAT LVOE YOU

the herondales are not his family bc they did not raise him. valentine is not his family bc he was abusive. he has no ties to wayland and that whole thing was a lie anyway. but the lightwoods loved him and took him in and he loved them. THEY ARE HIS FAMILY. THAT IS LITERALLY THE WHOLE POINT OF HIS ARC WHY WOULD YOU TAKE THAT AWAY. I just. whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy would you take the most interesting part of jace lightwood and get rid of it.

Look, you can either bring me to Brother Zachariah or I can wander around yelling for him until he turns up.

nuts-of-wonder:

Apparently Karla Souza’s character, Laurel Castillo, on How to Get Away With Murder was originally written as Laurel Wilden, a white character, but she asked the writers if they could change her into a latina and they did.

Karla Souza could’ve easily played a white character on the show. Instead she wanted to play as a latina. She wanted to break away from the stereotypical latino roles you always see on tv.

A Latina is playing a smart and quiet law school student on a hit show. You don’t see that often. You don’t really see latinos playing these parts in Hollywood. I’m so excited about the latino representation showing on my tv. Especially when it’s successful women in law or medicine.

Also I think it’s safe to say I’m officially a fan of Karla Souza.

Theory:

Peter Quill actually only had trouble holding the infinity stone because he’s half Terran.

A fully human Terran would have done much better.

I mean, Jane Foster had the aether inside of her in Thor 2, and that seemed pretty potent (and potentially could have been another infinity stone, besides).

In fact, considering all of the mutants and badassery and whatnot that abounds in the Marvel universe, and the heavy-hitters Terrans can produce with just a little genetic tweaking or gamma radiation, it’s possible that Asgard took to ‘safeguarding’ Midgard in the first place because Odin figured out that the natives are scary as balls.

Maybe during the war with the frost giants, certain humans started manifesting strange/special abilities to deal with the threat, and Asgard’s scientists/wizards/etc figured out that the poor puny Midgardians were like a sleeping monster, and the aggression of the frost giants was ‘waking them up’.

So Odin stepped in to stop them and to try and keep people from interfering with Midgard as much as possible, so the monster would stay sleeping.

Which is actually part of why he is so very pissed off at Loki for the events of Avengers, and at Thor for bringing Jane to Asgard - it’s a very, very tight secret that Midgard is a powder keg full of potential super-warriors, and Odin does not want that getting out, and he does not want them getting out. If Earth can stay as a nice, quiet, backwater planet with very little contact with the larger universe, that’s safer for everyone involved.
